This course is designed to meet the 30-hour educational requirement to become an approved supervisor for the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage & Family Therapists (OBLPCT). Participants will learn research, theories, and models of supervision to develop competency and mastery in the supervision of counselors and marriage and family therapists in all settings. The pragmatic tasks of supervision including ethics, laws, and rules will be emphasized along with relevant process skills and relational issues that arise. This training will include didactic and experiential learning to develop skills for individual and group supervision modalities. The instructor will share supervision expertise through a social justice lens and with an awareness of power in the supervisory relationship.
